Terry Wanjiku Macharia together with her co accused Moses Ochieng Onyango will be charged afresh with 51 counts of obtaining over Ksh27 million with false pretense, forgery , conspiracy to defraud over Ksh124 million and uttering false documents.
The two have been hoodwinking victims that they work at Kenya Rural Roads Authority and are in a position to give tenders for construction of roads only to part with huge sums of money and disappear in thin air waiting for the next victim to defraud.
The accused were arrested in January 25th year 2019 and charged on 28th same month and year with several counts of conspiracy to defraud, uttering false documents , forgery , obtaining and were released on bond.
While appearing before Nairobi’s Senior Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe at Milimani Law Court, where the State Prosecutor in a brief oral application submitted informing the trial court , that they intend to amend the charge sheet and freshly charge the two accused with 51 counts.
The accused through their lawyer did not oppose the State application but requested the Court to allow them more time to study the new amended charge sheet with 51 counts , where their request was granted and the Magistrate directed accused to appear before him on Wednesday 16th February year 2022 and plead to 51 counts.
The accused Terry and Moses allegedly obtained over 27 million Kenya shillings from Philip Okomba Sakwa within the months of September and December in the year 2018.
Promising the victim that they would give him a tender to construct a road within Westlands Nairobi County Kenya, a fact the two accused knew was false.
Ii is also alleged that the two together with others not before the court conspired to defraud over 124 million Kenya shillings through alleged forgery of documents purporting to be genuine documents issued by Regional Manager based in Nairobi , Kenya Rural Roads Authority.
The State Prosecutor has lineup nine witnesses to testify against the accused during the trial at the lower Criminal Court at Milimani Nairobi.
