In the recent years, Upper Hill has seen major construction with multinational corporations setting up offices within the locality. The area boasts of its closer proximity to the CBD as well as conducive office environment hence most government and non-government operations are located in this neighborhood.
Located in a 2.5 acres piece of land, The Pinnacle/Hass 1/Nairobi Tower 1 is still under construction with completion date projected to be on 2023. Upon completion, the tower will be the tallest skyscraper in Africa and the third tallest in the southern hemisphere standing at 1050ft/ 320m to the tip with 70 floors.
The development consist of two adjacent tower with the shorter tower standing at 46 floors and the taller having 70 floors. The shorter tower will comprise of five-star hotel, Upper Hill Hilton Hotel having 257 rooms. The taller tower Will comprise of mixed economic hubs including commercial office space up to 11th floor ,rental retail space up to 20th floor, and 46 floors of residential apartments.
The tallest tower will have 3 helipad on the roof-top to allow choppers directly from/to JKIA which is 10 miles away. Other features include gymnasium, conference facility, infinity pool , a luxury spa and a viewing deck at the top that gives clear view of Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
The project is a joint venture by Hass petroleum, an East African petroleum distributor and White Lotus Group, a Dubai-based investment firm. Ground breaking and excavation started in 2017 and was overseen by President Uhuru Kenyatta. The budgeted construction cost is Ksh 20 billion
