Admissions Requirements at the University of British Columbia for International Students
If you are applying for an undergraduate program at UBC, the admission requirements vary according to nationality, campus, and applicant type. If you are a high school graduate, check the international high school applicant requirements here. Choose a Vancouver or Okanagan campus, choose your location, and then choose a degree. Afterwhich, the English language requirement, general admission requirements, and degree-specific requirements are shown. For example, if you are from Singapore applying for the course Applied Biology, you must meet an English language requirement according to their English Language Admission Standard, be a graduate from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school, obtain an H2 level in Math, and an ordinary level in two of Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Moreover, an English Language Test is also needed from international applicants whose native language is not English. Undergraduate Scholarships
1. International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES)

- Scholarship Amount: about CAD 40,000 total, or CAD 10,000/year for four years
International students with excellent marks are granted the International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES), renewable for three years. 2. Outstanding International Student Award (OIS)

Graduate Scholarships
1. Guaranteed Ph.D. Funding

- Scholarship Amount: $22,000 minimum funding starting September 2021
The minimum funding is given to new exceptional Ph.D. students. Students are given a minimum funding guarantee for the first four years and higher funding, depending on qualifications. This University of British Columbia scholarship for international students can be used for school expenses such as tuition, books, and cost of living.
2. International Tuition Award

- Scholarship Amount: up to $3,200
The International Tuition Award is given to registered full-time graduates enrolled in research-based masters and doctoral programs. You are not qualified if you are on a government or organization funding equal to or higher than the International Tuition Award. There is no need to apply for this scholarship as this is automatically given to all international students in research-oriented programs.
