Electronics Manufacturer Samsung is looking to grow its sales by 10 percent in the Kenyan market following a partnership with online brand shop BrandCart Limited
This is following the unveiling of the store that will mainly focus on the consumer electronics segment.
The launch of the online brand shop comes at a time when online shopping is at an all-time high in the Kenyan market.
Samuel Odhiambo, the Head of Department Consumer Electronics Division at Samsung East Africa, says that since the pandemic there has been a shift to the online market.
“Internet accessibility has created an increase in online shopping in Kenya, therefore we want to ensure that all Samsung electronics are available to customers at the convenience of their fingertips. We are targeting to grow our sales by 5-10 percent in the next one year from this partnership” said Odhiambo.
According to Joseph Wesonga, Product Manager BrandCart, the platform will also allow for multiple payment options such as mobile banking.
“There will be delivery options to every corner of the country allowing for all Kenyans to make purchases from the platform free of charge. Additionally, customer can pay for their goods upon delivery,” noted Wesonga
With 40 percent of Kenyan’s said to be connected to the internet, Odhiambo says that this will create a potential customer base of 22 million Kenyans ready to shop on the platform.
“It allows customers to explore electronic products of their choice as well as compare from a range of items before making a purchase decision. Through the platform customers can learn about new technologies on Samsung products range.”
