President William Ruto has selected Susan Jemtai Koech as Deputy Governor for the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) from among the 10 that were shortlisted in December 2022.
Ms Koech is a former principal secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife.
Her appointment as the deputy governor of the CBK is pending approval by parliament.
CBK requires two deputy governors at any given time, but has been running with one throughout the tenure of Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ms Susan Koech was named in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal alongside former National Treasury CS Henry Rotich and PS Kamau Thugge.
