Opposition leader Raila Odinga has faced resistance from a section of Muhoroni residents who are opposed to his project of constructing an industrial park in the area.

Trouble began when the former premier asked locals to allow for construction of the park on their land arguing it was more important and profitable than practicing small scale farming.

The incident prompted the security team to step in and calm the situation living the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader in dilemma and embarrassed.

“Why are you embarrassing me? I am bringing development yet you are not keen on the projects that will benefit you,” wondered Raila

The park will occupy 500 acres and the construction work is set to start in August.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni are among the guests expected to launch the building process.

Raila was accompanied by Cabinet secretaries Peter Munya (Trade and Industrialisation), James Macharia (Transport) and John Munyes (Mining).
