Residents of Majitamu in Solai, Nakuru County held peaceful demonstrations Monday morning over increased insecurity in the area.
The residents accused the area chief, Samuel Totona of laxity.
They added that their homes and businesses were being broken into regularly.
Harun Ngeno one of the residents said that they were now living in fear following the release of suspects by the police shortly after their arrests.

They also blamed the rising insecurity on unemployment, illicit brew and drug abuse among the youth.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old boy has been killed by criminal gang that has been terrorising residents of Matungu sub-county in Kakamega for the last three months.
The boy is said to have been killed behind their house at Simba Wanyika village.
OCPD John Matsili said the Class One pupil was repeatedly stabbed on the neck and stomach with a knife.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has announced a major security operation in the area to flush out armed gangs that have been terrorising locals for the last three months.
