Gituku Kirika has replaced Agnes Gathaiya as Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Payment Services Limited (IPSL) commonly known as PesaLink.
Gituku who has over 15 years of leadership in banking spanning across the region brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into the firm. He also joins at a time when IPSL is faced with myriad of lawsuits concerning intellectual property and patents.
Before joining the Kenya Bankers Association platform behind instant payment service Pesalink, Gituku was the Director of Digital Payments and Labs at Mastercard for five years, spearheading new products launches like Mastercard QR and Person to Person Payments in Sub-Saharan Africa.

He also led product developments and management at Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) for five years, as the Regional Head of Products and the later the Assistant General Manager, Products & Marketing. During his tenure, Gituku Kirika led the launch of new products like prepaid cards, and the bank’s migration to digital banking platforms. Gituku Kirika also headed similar product and management roles at Standard Chartered Bank in Kenya and the UK.
Gituku Kirika holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science and Business Studies from the University of Warwick.
