Kenyans on Twitter have reacted to news that the Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS) is planning to intorudce a mandatory day where Nairobians will be required to clean up garbage in their area of residence.
“Each and every citizen of Nairobi County is supposed to dedicate one day a month in clean-up exercise of their area. So, this is going to come into law and now it will be amust’, the NMS Boss Major General Mohamed Badi said.
That has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans, ranging from the funny, serious to the mundane. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has run such an initiative, cleaning up rivers, with his Sonko Rescue Team (SRT) every month since coming to office. The downside is the number of aborted or murdered people, especially babies that have been recovered from rivers since.
KDF is currently cleaning the Ngong river.
These are some reactions that we sampled.
