Nuria Store, a Kenyan based store with global clients has begun accepting payments in Bitcoin.
On Saturday, the first purchase of a book using the cryptocurrency was made by an unknown client as per the details in a blog ekoroi.com.
“The first bitcoin transaction was done today 17th April 2021 at 12:32 pm from Trust Wallet. BTC sent: 0.00089, Network Fee: 0.0026064. The Book/Item Purchased: Land without Thunder and Other Short Stories by Grace Ogot”, the blog announced
According to the Nuria Store Chief Executive Officer Abdullahi Bulle, the move to accept payments in Bitcoin was reached so as to improve service for his clients.
Nuria, which started as a bookstore, currently deals in a wide variety of goods. However, Bitcoin will only be allowed for book purchases.
