A magistrate yesterday ordered a Sh49 million corruption case against former Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro and her husband Fernand Masha and 19 others to be mentioned on February 18 for purpose of fixing hearing dates.
At the same time, anti-corruption court Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi directed that only lawyers attend court on the said date.
Prosecution witness All the accused persons have since denied sharing out Sh49 million meant for a school project in the constituency. The magistrate had earlier warned the prosecution against further delaying the pre-trial.
Mugambi had expressed concern that the pre-trial of the case has never taken off despite being listed on a number of occasions. The prosecution has since
withdrawn charges against a diplomat Ruth Kanini Kitonyi who is a former Kasarani District development officer. Kitonyi is now a prosecution witness in the case
