Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has announced that it is closing 6 of its branches in a post-merger exercise to consolidate its operations.
In a public notice, the bank said that the Central Bank of Kenya has approved an application by DTB Kenya to consolidate its branches in certain locations within the country.
“The DTB branch consolidation will affect locations where the branches identified for merger are co-located or in close proximity to each other,” it read in part.
The affected branches will cease operations with effect from close of business on diferent dates.
Branches that will be closed on 30th June 2021 inc`lude, Jamhuri Street Branch which will be merged with Malindi branch, The Oval Digital Lobby and 9 West will be merged with West Gate branch, Kago Street branch will be merged with Eldoret branch.
Garden City branch will be merged with Thika Road Mall branch on 30th September 2021.
Eastleigh Branch will be merged with Madina Mall branch on 30th October 2021
The Bank is encouraging its customers to use their alternative banking channels including digital and online banking platforms.
“The staff in the affected will be redeployed appropriately to support other branches or business units within our network,” the public notice read.
SME support
The bank also announced that it will advance at least Sh1.6 billion to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) this year to aid in Covid-19 recovery.
DTB Board Chairman Linus Gitahi said the bank would place particular emphasis on MSMEs led by women.
