The persistent call by scrap metal dealers to the government to loosen the noose on the ban is far from over.
The dealers who spoke exclusively to the Nation, are crying foul because despite paying heavily for the licenses, they haven’t been given the green light to resume business.
Mr Samuel Wanjine, the assistant chairman of Nakuru scrap metal dealers, says they are counting losses running into millions of shillings mostly in premises rent and security.
Mr Wanjine wonders why they are being punished collectives together with those who are not compliant with the government directive which he says is punitive.
He now calls upon the government to at least reason and lift the ban so that those who have cleared and complied, can be allowed back to business.
