Silverstone starts re-booking passengers amid KCAA probe
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Domestic carrier, Silverstone Air has begun re-booking passengers to other airlines after the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) grounded eight of its
50-seater Dash-8 aircraft.

An insider who sought anonymity said they have been refunding an average of Sh7 million to passengers and travel agencies daily, making their operations unsustainable.

“People are going to lose jobs even as KCAA is yet to give a report of the findings,” said the source

Already, some passengers with pre-booked tickets have been scheduled on other flights as Silverstone oozes profits. The airline flies an average of
1,000 passengers daily on its 14 aircraft to various destinations across the country.

The grounding of its Dash-8 series which con￾titute about 60 per cent of its entire fleet is set to dig a deep hole in the firm’s balance sheet.
