The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) of Kenya received two top honours at the seventh Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA 2026) in Accra, Ghana.

The Authority was named Anti-Counterfeit Enforcement and Consumer Protection Provider of the Year.

Its Executive Director, Dr Robi M. King’a, was awarded Public Sector CEO of the Year.

The institutional award was presented by H.E. Shem Amadi, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

Dr King’a received his personal award from Dr Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, Ghana’s Head of Civil Service.

Dr King’a said the awards reflected the daily work of ACA staff and the support of partners in enforcement operations, prosecutions and public-awareness initiatives.

He added that the honours also bring a heightened responsibility to expand efforts, strengthen institutions and deliver tangible results for consumers.

The recognitions arrive as counterfeit trade continues to threaten consumer health, safety and legitimate enterprises across Africa.

ACA’s mandate includes investigations, market surveillance, border enforcement, prosecutions and public education to disrupt counterfeit supply chains.

The Authority works with government agencies, intellectual-property rights holders and industry stakeholders to promote compliance with intellectual-property laws.

ACA credited its Board, the Government of Kenya, enforcement partners, industry stakeholders and the public for supporting its mandate.

The continental awards highlight the need for sustained institutional leadership, inter-agency cooperation and public participation in combating counterfeit trade.
