Centum Real Estate Company has provided four-year scholarships to economically challenged students in Kilifi, facilitating their pursuit of secondary education.

The program targets students who achieved a score of 320 marks or more in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, ensuring their educational continuity by covering associated fees.

The scholarship declaration occurred at the Awali estate grounds, where 50 deserving students, in the company of their parents and guardians, received letters affirming their inclusion in the scholarship initiative sponsored by Centum Real Estate Company.

Among the recipients is 16-year-old Michelle Neema, a former student at Mkwajuni Primary School, who scored an impressive 342 marks. Thanks to the scholarship, she will now be able to pursue her studies at Ribe Girls Secondary School. Neema’s parent, Patrick Mbaga, living with a disability, expressed immense joy, stating that the scholarship has reignited his daughter’s dream of becoming a doctor.

David Samuel, another scholarship recipient and former student at Vipingo Primary, achieved a remarkable score of 359 marks. His mother, Josephine Dama, a casual laborer at Vipingo Ridge farm estates, shared her gratitude for the program, explaining that the scholarship has lifted the financial burden of her fourth-born son’s education.

Herman Mwandege, a former student of Kapecha Primary School, scored 322 marks and plans to join Mariakani Boys High School to pursue his educational aspirations. He emphasized the significance of the scholarship, particularly for families facing economic challenges.

During the award ceremony, Kenneth Mbae, Managing Director at Centum Real Estate Company, expressed his joy and highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting bright and needy students from underprivileged areas. Mbae emphasized that the scholarship program is designed to provide opportunities for 50 deserving beneficiaries who may have otherwise missed the chance to attend high school.

To qualify for the scholarship, learners must achieve a minimum of 320 marks and come from humble backgrounds. The initiative aims to empower students facing financial constraints to access quality education and fulfill their academic potential.
