Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano on Tuesday reiterated the National Government’s resolve to complete critical public development efforts within Nyandarua County, focusing on initiatives that directly influence day-to-day living standards.

While attending a memorial gathering in Gwa Kihara village, Ndaragwa Constituency, she addressed residents with clarity on several key undertakings: the acceleration of road rehabilitation projects, construction of new trading complexes designed for high-volume market activity, expansion of clean water supply systems, rural electrification, and enhanced access to both schools and medical facilities.

Miano also appealed to the local population to prioritize enrollment with the Social Health Authority (SHA), describing it as a necessary step for securing consistent access to health services across income levels.

She noted that participation in the SHA framework offers a buffer against financial distress caused by medical events and facilitates regular access to preventive and curative care for households.

During her remarks, she reflected on the life and influence of the late Mama Jane Wangari, whom she credited with shaping her personal development during formative years.

She described her not only as an educator and spiritual anchor in the community but as someone whose everyday acts left a lasting imprint on those she guided, both in family and society.
