Study shows employees are unhappy with their jobs
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Most employees are unhappy with their current workplace mainly due to the treatment they receive in their companies, a study by BrighterMonday has revealed.

According to the study, the oldest age group is the least happy but is not willing to leave its current employer to companies with competitive pay packages, job security, career growth, financial stability and welfare benefits.

“We have discovered that Kenyans are not entirely happy with their current work situation. Most people are willing to switch jobs but are, however, willing to provide positive recommendations of their current employers,” said Brighter Monday chief executive Emmanuel
Mutuma.

Speaking while unveiling a study for 2019 edition of the annual BrighterMonday Best 100 Companies to Work For, Mutuma said respondents, aged between 25 and 35 years were the happiest, followed by 18 to 24 year-olds. However, both age groups posed a high flight risk. The 100 most respected and admired companies include Safaricom, East Africa Breweries, the
UN and Kenya Revenue Authority.
