NCBA announced in Kisumu that it has provided KSh4.6 billion in asset finance to the Western region during 2026.

The funding assists businesses and individuals in Nyanza and Western Kenya to purchase vehicles, machinery, equipment and technology, supporting expansion and productivity across agriculture, agribusiness, trade, transport, logistics, manufacturing, education, healthcare and construction.

Lennox Mugambi, Group Director of Asset Finance and Business Solutions at NCBA, said the amount underscores how vital access to productive assets is for regional business activity, adding, “Asset financing enables businesses to acquire critical equipment while preserving working capital for day-to-day operations and other areas of growth. As we mark 20 years of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS, we are celebrating more than business performance. We are celebrating the partnerships that have enabled entrepreneurs, transporters, farmers, contractors, schools, hospitals, manufacturers and countless businesses across Kenya to acquire the assets they need to grow.”

In the first half of 2026, NCBA retained a 30 per cent share of Kenya’s asset-finance market and is broadening its offerings to include emerging categories such as electric vehicles and solar equipment, reflecting growing interest in efficiency-enhancing technologies.

Mugambi further noted, “The awards is ultimately about recognising the people behind Kenya’s growth story. Our partners are often the first to understand a customer’s needs and connect them to the right solution. Together, we are helping businesses expand, supporting livelihoods and enabling greater productivity. Our continued position as the Home of Asset Finance is built on these enduring partnerships.”

The 20th-anniversary regional circuit of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS will cover the Coast, Western, Mt Kenya and Nairobi regions, honouring dealers, distributors, insurance brokers, agents and other partners whose collaboration has helped customers obtain assets needed for business growth and Kenya’s economic development.
