The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, led by Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, is taking deliberate steps to contribute to this goal.

The team led a tree planting event at Muumoni Hills in Mwingi North, Kitui County, where they planted 13,750 seedlings.

The local community and various stakeholders played an active role in the initiative, highlighting the importance of collective involvement in environmental conservation.

This event serves as part of the broader national effort to achieve the 15 billion trees target by 2032.

The team’s leadership and collaboration with local stakeholders are helping to support Kenya’s climate action plans, while also contributing to the preservation of the country’s natural heritage.

The tree planting initiative demonstrates the Ministry’s determination to fulfill its role in the broader national conservation goals.
