The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife has assigned KICC the primary role in positioning Kenya as a leading destination for corporate and professional gatherings.

Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano highlighted KICC’s crucial role in this sector, emphasizing its importance in driving economic progress, knowledge sharing, and global networking.
She stated that the government has instructed KICC to collaborate with key stakeholders to refine the national strategy for corporate events.
Speaking at a workshop reviewing this strategy, Miano noted that these gatherings significantly boost foreign earnings and enhance expertise within the country.
Kenya recorded 2,394,376 visitor arrivals in 2024, with professional gatherings accounting for 27% (643,595 visitors), marking a 12.5% increase from the previous year.
Additionally, international delegate numbers grew by 7.4%, reaching 37,405 in 2024 compared to 34,814 in 2023.
Miano highlighted Kenya’s proven ability to host high-profile events, including global trade meetings, investment summits, and development conferences.
She also pointed to recent key events such as the African Development Bank board meeting, the IDA for Africa Summit, and the UN Civil Society Conference.
She attributed the sector’s growth to Kenya’s strategic location and well-developed facilities, positioning the country as a key player in the region.
