“Nairobi proudly claimed the title of Africa’s Leading Business Travel Destination 2025,” noted Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, adding that the win reaffirms the capital’s status as a “powerhouse for business, MICE tourism, and innovation on the continent.”Other standout winners included JW Marriott Nairobi, which has quickly gained renown for its luxury offerings and hospitality leadership in the city, and Emboo River Camp, a model of eco-conscious safari tourism in the Maasai Mara. The accolades were seen as a collective win for the country’s diverse tourism portfolio.
“From the eco-conscious Emboo Safari Camp to the world-class luxury of JW Marriott Nairobi and Radisson Blu Nairobi Upper Hill, Kenyan brands showed the world what #MagicalKenya is all about—excellence, innovation, and sustainability,” said Miano via her official social media platforms.Beyond individual properties, Kenya’s performance reflected a national strategy that continues to position the country at the forefront of African travel. The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, under CS Miano’s leadership, has emphasized policies that blend community empowerment, environmental stewardship, and private-sector growth. Looking ahead, the country is gearing up for the World Travel Awards Grand Final in Bahrain this December, where it hopes to replicate and even surpass its regional success on the global stage.
“As we look ahead to the WTA Grand Final in Bahrain this December, Kenya stands ready to keep leading the way toward a vibrant, sustainable global travel future,” Miano affirmed. She also extended praise to the tourism stakeholders who contributed to Kenya’s success:
“Hongera to all our champions for flying the Magical Kenya flag high!”The recognition comes at a time when Kenya is intensifying efforts to diversify its tourism products, support niche segments like eco-tourism and cultural heritage travel, and enhance its infrastructure to meet global demand. From the urban energy of Nairobi to the pristine coastline of Diani and Lamu, and the wilderness allure of the Maasai Mara, Kenya continues to set the benchmark for African destinations. As the continent’s tourism landscape evolves, Kenya’s latest triumph serves as both validation and motivation, positioning the country to remain a top destination not only in Africa but on the world stage.
