Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) commissioned its 94th branch on the ground floor of Banking Street in Isiolo town, a location that sits at the junction of the A2 highway and the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) corridor.

The new outlet will provide retail, SME and digital banking services aimed at pastoralist and agricultural production, logistics and cross-border transit, as well as tourism and related services.

DTB Kenya Managing Director Murali Natarajan said “Financial inclusion means ensuring that opportunity is not determined by where someone lives. By establishing a presence in Isiolo, we are bringing our banking services closer to individuals and businesses that are contributing to the region’s economy and creating opportunities for its future. We recognise the potential of northern Kenya and want to be a partner to the people, enterprises, and communities building the future.”

Isiolo County Governor Abdi Ibrahim Guyo added that “For a county like Isiolo, with its strategic location and growing economic opportunities, having more banking services within reach can make a meaningful difference to our traders, pastoralist communities, entrepreneurs and young people.”

Following the Isiolo opening, DTB announced a rollout of six additional branches across Nairobi, Kiambu and Homa Bay counties as part of a plan to reach a network of 100 outlets before the close of 2026.

A separate report stated that DTB intends to open five additional branches in Homa Bay, Kawangware, Ruiru, Redhill Runda and Parklands, which would also bring the total to 100 branches by December, differing from the six-branch figure.
