Kenya’s growing affluent market is set to benefit from enhanced premium banking services as Co-operative Bank of Kenya unveils plans to expand its Executive Plus Lounge network across the country.

The initiative follows the launch of the first lounge at Westlands Square, designed to provide personalized banking, strategic wealth management support, and a fully equipped executive boardroom, allowing high-net-worth clients to host business meetings in a professional setting.

Co-op Bank of Kenya is expanding its Executive Plus Lounges to major cities, offering high-net-worth clients personalized banking, wealth planning, and exclusive networking opportunities.

The lounge’s opening was officiated by Lena Yego, Head of Retail Banking, who welcomed customers and highlighted the bank’s commitment to tailored services.

Building on this foundation, the bank has announced an ambitious expansion strategy, planning to roll out ten additional Executive Plus Lounges in major urban centers.

Strategic locations for these lounges include Nyali, Eldoret (Rupa Mall), Nakuru, Kisumu, Gigiri, Karen, and other key branches.

This expansion is aimed at deepening engagement with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and affluent clients by providing dedicated spaces for personalized banking experiences, strategic wealth advisory, and exclusive networking opportunities.

“Our clients deserve tailored banking experiences that reflect their unique needs and ambitions,” said Lena Yego.

She added that the bank aims to facilitate not only banking transactions but also strategic discussions, networking events, and opportunities that can help clients grow and preserve their wealth.

The Executive Plus Lounges are designed to serve as hubs where clients can access a comprehensive suite of premium services, including investment planning, wealth advisory, and customized financial solutions, all in an environment that fosters business growth and high-level professional interactions.

The expansion aligns with the increasing number of affluent individuals in Kenya. According to the 2024 Africa Wealth Report, the country has over 7,200 high-net-worth individuals, with many clients benefiting from mortgage loans and monthly earnings exceeding KES 100,000. Statista projections indicate that Kenya’s Assets Under Management (AUM) will reach approximately US$8.26 billion in 2025 and is expected to grow to US$8.79 billion by 2029.

These figures underscore the demand for structured and personalized wealth management solutions and reflect the maturing financial landscape in Kenya.

The Executive Plus Lounge concept is designed to provide more than traditional banking. With fully equipped boardrooms, the lounges offer clients the ability to host business meetings and engage in networking activities in a premium setting.

This approach not only strengthens the bank-client relationship but also positions the bank as a key partner in strategic business and wealth decisions.

By delivering high-quality, accessible financial services, Co-operative Bank seeks to create a differentiated banking experience for its premium clientele.

Lena Yego emphasized that the expansion of these lounges is part of the bank’s broader vision to bring world-class banking experiences closer to clients across different regions.

She stated, “Our clients deserve tailored banking experiences that reflect their unique needs and ambitions. We aim to facilitate not only banking transactions but also strategic discussions, networking events, and opportunities that can help clients grow and preserve their wealth.”

The bank’s strategy recognizes the evolving dynamics of Kenya’s wealth market, which continues to demonstrate significant financial growth and economic development.

The Executive Plus Lounges are expected to support clients in wealth creation and management while fostering an environment conducive to high-level business discussions.

This initiative also strengthens Co-operative Bank’s leadership position in Kenya’s premium banking sector by delivering services that combine innovation, exclusivity, and accessibility.

As the bank continues to scale its premium banking offerings, the Executive Plus Lounge expansion represents a significant step toward meeting the sophisticated needs of Kenya’s high-net-worth individuals and affluent clientele.

By creating dedicated spaces for strategic financial engagement, Co-operative Bank is positioning itself as a central partner in the financial journeys of its most valued clients.
