Bolt has been placed eighth in the 2026 Superbrands ranking of Kenya’s strongest brands, becoming the sole mobility platform to feature in the top ten.
The position derives from an independent consumer study carried out by Kantar for Superbrands East Africa and gave Bolt a Superbrands score of 88.786, with quality rated at 9.08, distinction at 9.14, reliability at 8.79 and an awareness level of 78 per cent.
“Being named among Kenya’s top 10 strongest brands is a significant milestone for Bolt and a reflection of the trust customers have placed in our platform,” said Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager for rides in East Africa at Bolt.
“Kenyan consumers have many brands to choose from, but what ultimately matters is whether a brand delivers on its promises,” said Jawad Jaffer, Project Director and Associate Publisher at Superbrands East Africa.
The 2026 study evaluated brands across 112 categories, asking respondents to judge quality, reliability and distinction; project leads Keith Pere and Wetindi Patrick of Kantar Insights East Africa noted that strong brands satisfy both functional and emotional consumer needs.
Research released with the ranking showed that 86 per cent of surveyed Kenyans are likely to buy products or services bearing the Superbrands seal, 84 per cent say the seal would boost their trust, 85 per cent would consider trying a new offering, while 63 per cent would be willing to pay a higher price for a sealed brand.
An equal 81 per cent of respondents believe the seal helps brands stand out and identify leading brands, and the Net Promoter Score for Superbrands-recognised brands rose from 10 in 2024 to 31 in 2026.
Bolt joined other top-ten brands that include M-Pesa, Safaricom, Samsung, WhatsApp, Google, Naivas, Dettol, Kenya Airways and YouTube, with M-Pesa scoring higher than Bolt for distinction.
