Absa Bank Kenya is marking a century of operations in Eldoret with a week-long programme of customer, colleague and community activities across Uasin Gishu County.
The bank’s leadership team has met customers, businesses, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders during the week to hear their aspirations and reaffirm the bank’s support for their growth, while also recognising the contributions of current and former staff.
Speaking in Eldoret, Absa Bank Kenya Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Yusuf Omari said the milestone “is a remarkable milestone and a testament to the trust that generations of customers have placed in us” and that the engagements “reinforce our commitment to remaining a trusted financial partner”.
As part of the programme, Absa executives visited world-renowned athlete Faith Kipyegon to acknowledge her global achievements and inspirational role.
The week’s events concluded with an exclusive dinner for current and retired employees to honour their role in the bank’s growth.
On Saturday the celebrations will feature the Absa @ 100 Golf Tournament, bringing together customers, partners and stakeholders for networking, and on Sunday the Absa City Run – Eldoret edition will host thousands of participants.
Marketing and Corporate Affairs Director Mwihaki Wachira said the golf tournament and city run are “important brand and community engagement platforms” that demonstrate the bank’s commitment to building connections, promoting healthy lifestyles and creating a positive impact beyond banking.
Absa Bank Kenya said the anniversary reinforces its commitment to empowering customers and communities and supporting the next chapter of economic growth in Eldoret and the wider North Rift region.
