The President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta’s Twitter Account (@UKenyatta) has been taken up by an unknown person after being in deactivation for more than the limit of 30 days.
According to Twitter, when you deactivate your account, it is possible to restore your account for up to 30 days after deactivation. Beyond that, someone else can take up the account and make it theirs.
Back in May 2019, the government had said that the official social media handles of the President were temporarily suspended to allow for “necessary remedial measures to be undertaken.
It now seems like Uhuru Kenyatta and his handlers are not interested in coming back to social media, because if they do, the cost will be higher as they’ll be required to buy the handle from the one who operates it now.
