US President Donald John Trump has written a terse letter to the head of World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to explain why United States should continue funding the organisation amid glaring inconsistencies in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
The US temporarily stopped funding WHO in April due to what the US goovt terms as failing “to independently investigate credible reports that conflicted directly with the Chinese government’s official accounts, even those that came from sources within Wuhan itself”, which it believed exposed much of the world to the disease.
“The International Health Regulations require countries to report the risk of a health emergency within 24 hours. But China did not inform the World Health Organization of Wuhan several cases of Pneumonia, of unknown origin, until December 31, 2019, even though it likely had knowledge of these cases days or weeks earlier”, the letter said in part.
In early stages of the Covid-19 virus, who has stated that the disease was not known to infect from human to human, though it had believed at that time that the disease might have jumped from an animal at the Wuhan wet market.
“On January 14, 2020, the World Health Organization gratuitously reaffirmed China’s now-debunked claim that the coronavirus could not be transmitted between humans, stating: “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCov) identified in Wuhan, China.” This assertion was in direct conflict with censored reports from Wuhan”, Trumo writes.
SAR-COV2 or COVID-19 has gone to infect over 4 million worldwide, killing nearly 400,000. Though the rate of death is not as high as other diseases such as Ebola during their outbreak, for example Ebola, the Covid-19 has caused a lot of fear and wide ranging debate about its origins, the manner of its handling and the future.
No other virus has caused the world to be ‘off the streeets’ as this one; the measures such as quaratine, isolation at homes, mass wearing of face masks, using sanitizers in public hs never been witnessed in the past.
These has led to some sections of society questioning the rationality of it all, some people such as the NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden have explained how the contact tracing method ‘does not work and it only used as a tool to create an ‘architecture for (more) oppresssion’.
The world’s eyes have been opened to the reality that non-medical doctors, people who have not been eelcted (to public office); people such as Microsoft founder and Bill and Melinda Gates philanthropist Bill Gates would be in the forefront of asking for the whole world to be vaccinated against a disease with a kill-rate of less than 5 per cent.
Confusion has been created as doctors in different regions of the world give different information.
Trump blames WHO for lack of leadership and sluggishness that led to a pandemic being declared late in the day.
“By the time you finally declared the virus a pandemic on March 11, 2020, it had killed more than 4,000 people and infected more than 100,000 people in at least 114 countries around the world’, the later continues.
Most of president Trump’s remarks aboit Covid-19 has been criticised by the mainstream media and amplified by the ‘alternative news’ if you like. The spin on coronavirus from both sides is dizzying.
There are obviously grave concerns about the efficacy of the vaccines even as proposed by Bill Gates. In different parts of the world vaccines proposed by the billionaire have reportedly caused untold suffering to many people. This has led to suspicion on why he is pushing for COVID-19 vaccine on a scale not seen in the past. No vaccines has ever been administered on a global scale.
According to doctors, vaccines works but sometimes they may bring undesired effects.
In May, Dr. Anthony Fauci — US leading infectious disease expert on the White House Coronavirus Task Force— gave America a brief warning while remotely testifying before Congress about the consequences of rushing vaccine trials.
“I must warn that there’s also the possibility of negative consequences where certain vaccines can actually enhance the negative effect of the infection,” he said. “The big unknown is efficacy. Will it be present or absent, and how durable will it be.”
Many people have translated this to mean, preparation for mass deaths through vaccines and the division amng doctors does not help ease the fear among the populace.
Last week, Italian parliament acused Bill Gates of administering a vaccine that some doctors say has led to the weakening of immune system of the people thus leading to susceptability and many deaths by COVID-19.
Donald Trump is one of those that have criticised, ridiculed and mocked the scientific community.
The letter continues, “Throughout this crisis, the World Health Organization has been curiously insistent on praising China for its alleged “transparency.” You have consistently joined in these tributes, notwithstanding that China has been anything but transparent. In early January, for example, China ordered samples of the virus to be destroyed, depriving the world of critical information. Even now, China continues to undermine the International Health Regulations by refusing to share accurate and timely data, viral samples and isolates, and by withholding vital information about the virus and its origins. And, to this day, China continues to deny international access to their scientists and relevant facilities, all while casting blame widely and recklessly and censoring its own experts”.
The US president is irked by China insistence on not being independently audited and blames WHO for not doing ‘much better’. He concludes by giving WHO 30 days to ‘commit to major substantive improvements’ or face a permanent de-funding from the US.
“It is clear the repeated missteps by you and your organization in responding to the pandemic have been extremely costly for the world. The only way forward for the World Health Organization is if it can actually demonstrate independence from China. My Administration has already started discussions with you on how to reform the organization. But action is needed quickly. We do not have time to waste. That is why it is my duty, as President of the United States, to inform you that, if the World Health Organization does not commit to major substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will make my temporary freeze of United States funding to the World Health Organization permanent and reconsider our membership in the organization. I cannot allow American taxpayer dollars to continue to finance an organization that, in its present state, is so clearly not serving America’s interests”, the letter ends.
