Players in the tourism industry are keeping their fingers crossed hoping that the sector will maintain its upward trajectory in recovery.
Mr Simon Kabu the CEO of Bonfire Adventures opines that this is being spurred by the flattening of the Covid curve and the consequent removal of requirements of the Covid certificate and masks.
This brought a sigh of relief to the local and international tourists who have gained confidence to travel locally and internationally. This phenomenon is evident through the increased number of bookings for the high season of July to September.
To give the industry better leverage, Mr Kabu through his Bonfire Adventures company has subsidized rates for both local and foreign travellers.
This, he says, will inject more impetus in the industry that was recently allocated ksh five billion by the Exchequer in a bid to spur growth and ensure resilience.
