Standard Chartered Bank of Kenya plans to shut down its branch along Moi Avenue.
“We refer to our notification sent to you on 01 February 2021 regarding our branch distribution network rationalization and the upcoming closure of Moi Avenue Branch. Kindly be reminded that effective 1st August 2021, Moi Avenue Branch will be closed and that your account shall be transferred to Kenyatta Avenue branch. Nonetheless, your bank account number remains the same and all your debit/credit cards will also remain valid”, the bank said in an email to its clients.
Clients that had accounts at Moi AVenue branch will be transferred to Kenyatta Avenue Branch.
“Though your account details will be transferred to our Kenyatta Avenue branch, you can still fully operate your account through our Online/Mobile Banking platforms as well as from any of our branches countrywide”, the bank wrote in the email seen by Kenyanbusinessfeed.com
The bank is on a branch network rationalisation and has already closed some branches in the Nairobi Central Business District.
The Koinange Street branch was closed a few months ago.
In April 2020, the bank temporarily shut down 8 of its branches for three months in efforts geared towards minimizing the spread of Covid-19.
This latest move is due to reduced business due to Covid-19.
