Former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga has paid his last respects to late former second president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi at Parliament buildings a few minutes ago.
Raila who was in the company of his wife Ida, Son Raila junior and aides visited Parliament where the body of the late professor of politics lies in state.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, former president Mwai Kibaki other leaders paid their respects.
According to reports, over 50,000 Kenyans visited Parliament yesterday to view Moi’s body. The public viewing which ends tomorrow at 5 pm will be followed by a burial on Wednesday at Moi’s Kabarak home in Nakuru.
The government has said that it will cater for the meal, drinks and memorial service booklet for the first 30,000 Kenyans who will attend the ceremony in Kabarak.
“First 30,000 people to arrive for Moi’s burial to be given seats, served food” Rift Valley Regional Coordinator George Natembeya said.
