The unfortunate cancelation of Mobile World Congress 2020 due to Coronavirus outbreak has led many tech companies into finding other alternatives for their product launches. Whilst other companies pushed their events forward, other companies have gone ahead with online-only product launches.
Finnish company, HMD Global had initially planned to launch its new brand of Nokia phones on February 23.
Today, HMD Global’s Chief product officer, Juho Sarvikas via a tweet, announced that there will be an event on March 19th, in London from, where we expect the manufacturer to announce the devices it had initially planned to launch during MWC 2020.
With the hype around 5G slowly taking shape, we do not expect Nokia to be left behind and are predicting it will announce its first 5G smartphone. As per the trend with HMD, it will also announce a mid-range smartphone and an entry-level smartphone, which we have already predicted to be a successor of Nokia C1. Lastly, we expect HMD to announce a feature phone, to add to its impressive list of Nokia feature phones.
There had been rumors that HMD will launch a flagship smartphone, specifically, a successor to Nokia 9 PureView. However, with the reported flaws that Nokia 9 PureView had, we expect HMD to take its time in the development of its next flagship smartphone.
