National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is being accused of misuse of taxpayers’ money., unfairness, and involvement in corrupt dealings.
This is according to the Nubian rights forum who have moved to court seeking a court order to stop irregular appointments of staff and promotions made by NHIF CEO Peter Kamunyo.
In an application filed in Court the group claims there were irregular appointments and promotions were made in the month of April 2021 without due procedure being followed by Kamunyo.
The Petitioner wants the court to issue a stay order until the matter is heard and determined and Kamunyo be directed to provide minutes of the interviews that led to the promotions of the said staff.
Nubian rights forum has sued National Hospital Insurance Fund as the first respondent and the Chief Exercutive Officer Peter Kamunyo.
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission , the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Health , Principal Secretary Ministry of Health and the Attorney General have been listed as interested parties.
The group through their lawyer Dancan Okatch, has accused the first respondent of abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds.
It now wants an Audit of funds and Kamunyo to step aside and give room for Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission to do their work.

The petition number E024 of year 2022 filed at the Employment and Labour Relations Court Nairobi County Kenya, was received by National Hospital Insurance Fund last week.
