Naivas Supermarket is set to open three more outlets in the country to hit its planned 100 store target as it steps up its expansion drive and battle for market share growth against its closest rivals in the country.
This is after the Kenya leading retailer opened its 97th store in Malindi in a ‘strategic’ expansion plan, and within just two months since establishing an outlet in Bombolulu.
The latest addition to the Naivas Supermarket chain is located along the Malindi-Mombasa highway, 2km away from Malindi Airport.
The branch covering 6700 square feet of trading space is an excellent addition to the supermarket chain as it
has a very strategic location
This marks the second branch in the town, affectionately known as Little Italy, and the third in Kilifi County. With this new outlet, Naivas Supermarket’s store count reaches 10 in the coast region and 97 countrywide, spread across 24 towns and cities in the country.
Not only will the outlet serve the residents of Malindi but also travelers passing through the region. The branch is situated within a mixed-use development that includes other complementary businesses, such as a petrol station.
“This is a significant milestone year for us as we work towards our 2024 financial year plans, with the most notable achievement being the historic 100 branches. We’ve called this journey #Roadto100, as we reflect on the 33 years of hard work that have brought us to this moment,” said Andreas Von Paleske, Naivas Chief of Strategy.
According to the Chief of Strategy, returning to Malindi in just one and a half years is a testament to the tremendous support the retail chain has received from the community.
“Listening to our customers’ feedback and delivering new and enhanced shopping experiences have been our guiding principles. With 97 branches in operation, we believe we have the foundation to define the next chapter of retail while driving robust growth,” he added
Since 2021 when Naivas first opened an outlet in Malindi, its been looking to provide the community with a world-class shopping experience infused with authentic Kenyan hospitality while remaining true to its brand promise of ‘saves you money.’
The addition of this second outlet reaffirms the winning formula of Naivas Supermarket, and the company intends to continue following it. As part of their tradition, they will launch a 4-week campaign called “Malindi Tena na Tena.” This campaign aims to express gratitude to the people of Malindi for their incredible support, and Naivas Supermarket promises to keep serving them whenever they call upon the store. During the campaign, residents of Malindi will enjoy unbeatable store opening offers and various exciting goodies.
