Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public law firm wants to be paid for reputation and damages of its name. In a suit to be filed Thursday 21,July 2022 at Milimani Law Courts the lawyers based at the law firm are demanding for compensation over character assassination.
The law firm is aggrieved by the statement made by the State Director of Public Prosecution.
Noordin Haji while being interviewed on a local TV Station where he referred to the lawyers at the firm as busy bodies, baptizing the respectable upcoming youthful lawyers in the entire African Continent as busy bodies.
While addressing the media, the aggrieved lawyers led by Danstan Omari, Shadrack Wambui of Sheria mtaani, Paul Macharia and Martina Swiga described the remarks by the DPP as unfortunate, unprofessional and very disturbing.
The aggrieved youthful upcoming lawyers will on Thursday move to Court to file a suit seeking for damages and character assassination . According to them they will too request the Court to grant them prayer of being compensated the money general damages which they have safeguarded and took more years to build.
They will also be demanding for apology which they insist must be done through a prime time news in the said media station where the alleged utterances were made.
The law firm alleged that its targeted for its continuee for the removal of the Director of Public Prosecution on grounds of being incompetent, abusing his powers , allegedly being corrupt, abuse of office, nepotism, and being a suspect in the ongoing forgery offence investigations.
The aggrieved law firm told members of the press that , if indeed Haji was clean, then why did he file an application before the Constitutional Court seeking for stay of his current and future probe and his removal from office?
“They also stressed that the DPP has intentionally stalled the fight against graft in the Country by illegally giving amnesty to suspected criminals a space to continue with their illegal, suspicious and fraudulent activities by issuing a memo to his officers , the Prosecutors directing them that those seeking political leadership and are suspects should not be charged or their ongoing cases should be adjourned until they are elected back into public office” said the lawyers of the aggrieved firm.
The lawyers based at the said law firm reminded Kenyans that over five thousands files forwarded by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is yet to be acted upon with no reasons being given for the delay. They also demanded for the academic papers of Haji to be disclosed publicly.
