The Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFC) has late Friday evening confirmed the replacement of Ezekiel Mutua as CEO.
“The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry for ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, Mr Joe Mucheru, EGH, has appointed Mr. Christopher Wambua the Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB). Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, MBS, who is serving his second and final term, is proceeding on terminal leave from 6th August 2021, pending the expiry of his contract on 25th October, 2021. Mr. Wambua assumed office today,” the statement signed by Board Chair June Gachuhi stated in full.
Ezekiel Mutua was seen conducting KFCB business today despite reports that he had been sacked.
Eareir in the day, it was reported that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Authority (EACC) had launched a probe into irregular payments at the agency.
