In March this year, Mary Njoroge was named among three other women referees for the first time in CAF history to officiate the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations U17 tournament.
According to CAF, the decision to have lady referees officiate men’s game was a testament to CAF’s commitment to developing the women’s football as well as give the women match officials a bigger platform yo expose their talent and give them the much needed experience.
