KCB Bank Tanzania announced a partnership with PayPal that embeds PayPal functionality directly into the KCB Mobile App.
The new feature allows users to set up or link a PayPal account, receive payments from abroad, make eligible international transactions and transfer PayPal balances into their KCB accounts in Tanzanian shillings.
The service is aimed at freelancers, entrepreneurs, small and medium-size enterprises, tourism operators, content creators and other businesses that need smoother cross-border payment flows.
KCB said the integration supports its recently launched “Ina-Make Cents” campaign, which promotes smarter digital banking habits among Tanzanian customers.
Josina Njambi, Head of Digital Financial Services at KCB Bank Tanzania, described the partnership as a key step in linking Tanzanians more seamlessly to the global digital economy and in making financial connections simpler, safer and more accessible.
She noted that the PayPal addition demonstrates a practical example of the smarter digital banking the campaign encourages, giving customers an easier way to move between local and global financial activities.
The bank said the rollout reflects its continued investment in digital innovation to provide secure, convenient and customer-centric banking experiences.
