A report by research firm Geopoll dubbed “online Influencers’ Influence In Kenya And Nigeria” has put new Kiss 100 FM Presenter and Vlogger Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o at the top of the digital influencer table in Kenya.
The report ranks him alongside Timothy Kimani aka Njugush, Eric Omondi, Size 8, Betty Kyalo, Robert Alai, Akothee, Dan Ndambuki Churchill, Jeff Koinangeand Maxine Wabosha the vlogger as the top 10 digital influencers in the country respectively.
Kevin Bahati, Xtian Dela, The Wa Jesus Family, Azziad Nasenya, and Khaligraph Jones come in hot as the tenth most influential to the 15 most influential Kenyans on social media respectively.
Geopoll’s report was conducted in the last week of July 2020 and sought to understand how the consumer side perceives influencers. The most believable types of influencers were found to be journalists and media personalities (51pc), followed by industry experts (46pc) and celebrities such as musicians and actors at 44pc.
“The survey reveals telling insights. Influencers with relevant content continue to have a strong following as they win and retain consumer trust, which ultimately impacts purchasing decisions. Social media influencers who are trusted and followed by consumers still play an important role in affecting their purchasing decisions.” Geopoll states.
