Family Bank has invested Ksh1.5 million to aid Sosiani Primary School. The school is the only one in the larger Rift Valley region that offers special needs education to autistic pupils.
The investments through its Family Group Foundation have seen the school benefit from equipment and refurbishment of two classrooms.
“This has been made possible by proceeds from the annual Family Group Eldoret Half Marathon We made a commitment that the race will not only provide a platform for discovering talent but will also impact this community’’, said Godfrey Kamau, the Bank Chief Operations Officer.
The school also benefited from specialised learning materials and books and installation of a water storage facility.
The new facility was handed over at a ceremony held at the school located in Eldoret West, Uasin Gishu County.
“Our journey with Sosiani Primary School would not have been possible without the support of the County Ministry of Education. The Ministry has facilitated the placement of four special education teachers and have promised to allocate more,” said Family Group Foundation Manager Jacqueline Mathaga
