Crown Paints Kenya inaugurated a new depot in Kisii, aiming to serve construction activity across 15 towns in the South Nyanza region.

Group Chief Executive Officer Mustafa Turra performed the official launch of the facility.

The depot will cover markets such as Kisii, Nyamira, Oyugis, Homa Bay and Mbita, and will assist dealers, contractors and property developers engaged in residential, commercial and institutional projects.

Locating the centre in Kisii is expected to boost product availability and lessen reliance on supplies from distant hubs like Kisumu, enabling customers to obtain specialised coatings nearer to their sites.

Turra said the investment reflects a deliberate shift toward emerging construction centres where demand for quality building materials is generating fresh business opportunities.

He explained, “Kenya’s construction market is no longer concentrated in major cities. Growing towns are creating significant opportunities for investment in housing, commercial developments and supporting infrastructure. Our Kisii depot positions us to capture this demand while strengthening the capacity of local dealers to participate in the region’s growth.”

The Kisii depot follows the recent opening of a Crown Paints Xperience Centre in Machakos County, which also targets the local residential and commercial construction market.

Together, the two facilities illustrate the firm’s strategy to tap regional growth centres and bolster its competitive stance in Kenya’s paints and coatings sector.
