A section of Governors have opposed proposals for the National Government to take over health functions saying a function once devolved must remain as such.
Speaking at the ongoing national universal health coverage conference in Kisumu Council of Governors Health Committee Chair Muhammed Kuti said devolving health services has had its fair share of advantages across the Country.
Kuti who is also the Governor for Isiolo now wants the Government to instead reduce the sector funding bureaucracy to ensure health institutions receive resources from the treasury directly and on time to enhance service delivery at the grass root .
This comes amid increasing industrial strikes by health workers in the Country and especially at the County level.

Kuti said it would be catastrophic to millions of poor Kenyans at the grass root level who are currently enjoying access to quality health care.
