Co-operative Bank of Kenya has offered Sh1 million to help in organising this year’s Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Day celebrations to be held at Mariakani Garrison in the Coast region on 14 October 2020.
Commander Kenya Army Ltd General Walter Koipaton received the dummy cheque from Co-operative Bank of Kenya Group Director-Retail and Business Banking Mr William Ndumia .
KDF Day is observed annually to Commemorate and to celebrate the acts of valor and gallantry by KDF heroes and heroines.
This special day has been observed since October 2012 following the launch of Operation Linda Nchi in October 2011.
In the event, soldiers who performed exceptionally well in their duties are recognized and presented with awards in recognition of their remarkable work.
