Christopher Low is the new Regional Director for I&M Holdings.
Mr Low replaces Vincent De Brouwer who resigned in August 2020.
The new regional director is charged with ensuring effective implementation of I&M Group’s long term vision and strategy while building, protecting and enhancing the Group’s brand
value and visibility across the countries where the Group has a presence.
He is a skilled banker with over thirty years. Christopher has served in numerous executive roles in the Sub Saharan region and across the world. He has valuable knowledge in international banking, digital transformation, emerging markets, risk management, and financial inclusion. Christopher will be instrumental in I&M’s expansion journey.
I&M holdings is expanding its network in the Eastern Africa region as competition in the banking industry intensifies. In 2020, the company acquired 90% shareholding in Ugandan based Orient Bank. I&M also raised KSh887 million from a rights issues in Rwanda with the aim to accelerate investment in technology and bolster its capital adequacy ratio. Kenyan lenders Equity Holdings and KCB Group are on similar expansion missions.
Christopher is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has a Masters degree (Zoology) from Oxford University.
