The associations of informal workers are now calling on the County of Nairobi to allocate parking spaces for Boda Boda riders in the city
Speaking during a briefing in Nairobi the Chief Executive, Kenya National Federation of Jua Kali Associations (KNFJKA) Richard Muteti noted that parking for motorcycles in the city has become a huge concern which needs to be addressed as one of the packages for normal business resumption.
Muteti also pointed out that the informal sector members have not been receiving the governments’ relief package despite having hugely been affected by the pandemic.
Under their umbrella union Informal Sector Coalition on Business Support and Continuity the informal workers are now calling on the government to set up structures that will enable Kenyans working on the Jua Kali sector to get social Welfare package to salvage their businesses.
