Ardena Consulting has unveiled the Ardena Platform, a system for managing and reporting environmental, social and governance data aimed at companies in Kenya and the wider East African region.

The solution brings together data gathering, emissions estimation, performance tracking and reporting within a single tool, seeking to replace the manual steps currently used by sustainability, finance and compliance groups.

The platform was presented at the GreenShift Forum 2026 held at Hyatt Place Westlands in Nairobi on October 22.

Ardena Consulting was founded by Stephanie Ojee and Njoki Kamau-Mbugua, whose experience covers ESG advisory and sustainability services.

Its primary role is to organise ESG information sourced from operational systems, utility providers, human-resources platforms and supply-chain partners, with validation features intended to flag irregular or inconsistent inputs before they reach a report.

By providing a shared data set, the platform aims to avoid repeated requests, spreadsheet reconciliation and manual checks that typically arise when different teams collect the same information in varied formats.

Additional capabilities listed include dashboards, reporting-deadline monitoring, version control and audit trails to help users track performance, manage obligations and identify who altered each data point.

Ardena states that the system can map a single data set to multiple reporting frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative Standards, SASB, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, IFC Performance Standards and Capital Markets Authority disclosures.

This mapping is intended to reduce duplicate data entry and simplify the preparation of different outputs from the same underlying records, although companies must still define boundaries, calculation methods and supporting evidence for each disclosure.

The platform also incorporates a greenhouse-gas calculator that supports Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions using activity data and emission factors relevant to Kenya and East Africa.

Users are required to determine reporting boundaries, gather suitable activity data, select appropriate emission factors and document methodology, particularly for Scope 3 data that relies on supplier information.

Designed for East African conditions, the tool offers mobile data collection for low-bandwidth settings, workflows for field teams and the ability to process paper-based or informal supplier inputs.

It further includes pre-mapped requirements for Kenyan regulators and bodies such as the Capital Markets Authority, Nairobi Securities Exchange, Central Bank of Kenya and National Environment Management Authority.

Ardena claims the platform can cut reporting time by up to 70 per cent and enable faster data collection and reporting across five or more frameworks from a single data set.

The company notes that these are performance statements and that actual savings will depend on data volume, reporting obligations, system integration and the extent of existing manual work.

Adoption will involve implementation effort, staff training, data-governance measures and ongoing maintenance of accurate records.

The product enters a market where sustainability reporting is linked to corporate risk management, financing, supply-chain requirements and operational performance, offering a structured data process to reduce repetitive administrative tasks.
