The board of Absa bank Kenya Plc has appointed Fulvio Tonelli to join the firm as a non-executive director with effect from 1st October 2020.
Fulvio brings in more than 30 years of accounting experience. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at PwC Africa for 12 years. He directed the firm’s Risk & Quality, Finance, Information Technology and all other internal support services. Prior to that, he was an audit partner in the accounting firm.
[Mr Tonelli] brings to the Board a deep understanding of the banking industry and strategic thinking, in addition to extensive knowledge and experience in managing such areas of finance, risk and technology, all of which are key elements of the bank’s growth strategy’, a statement by the board of directors stated in part.
Fulvio holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons) (Accounting) from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Additionally, he is a member of the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
